Digital Traction Control
HEINZMANN develops, produces and distributes all components for conventional fuel injection such as governors, actuators and sensors. Depending on application, they provide the necessary control, protection and monitoring functions. In diesel-electric locomotives, they take over speed control of the prime mover as well as load control of the generator (AD/DC). PEGASOS traction control system
The PEGASOS digital control systems are proven in numerous railway applications. The HEINZMANN HELENOS control unit DC 2-02 forms the core of the system in combination with a choice of HEINZMANN actuators. Further system components for diesel-electric locomotives are:

Diesel-hydraulic locomotives with up to 24 VDC supply don’t require additional equipment and can omit potential separation. Optional are input/output extension units and CAN bus interface.
PEGASOS Control Panel
The PEGASOS controller is a modular electronic system including:

- interface with excitation signal amplifier module and optional
I/O extension units for analog and digital signals - DC/DC converter (24-110 VDC)
- optional CAN bus interface
All inputs and outputs are opto-isolated.
DC 2-02
Marketed under the name HELENOS, these digital speed governors can be directly combined with all HEINZMANN actuator types with a control torque of up to 40 Nm. The range is also certified to various standards (ATEX, marine, etc.)
