The state-of-the-art TRITON oil mist monitoring systems from HEINZMANN have been specially developed to meet the needs of large combustion engines, such as those used in ships or power plants. TRITON OMD (Oil Mist Detection) protects operating personnel and helps to prevent serious damage to the engine in good time. TRITON OMD Control Unit 1st Generation

The control unit has been designed for use in the engine compartment. Its resistance to vibrations means it can be installed directly on the engine. The electrical connections are established using robust connectors with sealed metal housings. The control unit can be installed close to the engine or in the engine control room.

TRITON OMD Sensors 1st Generation

OMD sensors do not have any moving parts, which means they do not wear. The intelligent firmware prevents false alarms – so the alarm is only triggered if oil mist actually occurs. The measuring unit for a crankcase compartment consists of a finger-shaped optical sensor with system redundancy and a multi-chamber splash oil protection system. The latter prevents the sensor from being contaminated by splash oil, yet still enables oil mist to be detected by the sensor light barrier. The response time of each sensor and the entire system is less than one second.
