HEINZMANN is a specialist in generator control systems for supplying purpose machinery and plants with over three decades of extensive experience. Analogue as well as up-to-date digital control systems for synchronising and load sharing are available to the genset industry as well as capabilities in planning and supplying manifold applications.

HEINZMANN’s Digital Generator Management system DGM THESEUS is an allrounder. Whether in island or mains parallel operation, single genset or group, there is an appropriate version for every application which, in conjunction with the HMIs ARGOS or PANOPTES, provides a comfortable and user-friendly system.
DGM THESEUS is available in four main variants: BASIC, MEDIUM, EXTENDED and GROUP. Each of these has a predetermined range of functions and communications interfaces suitable for user configuration via the powerful DcDesk 2000 communication software. Beside standard installation, all but the BASIC variant also provide custom-engineered solutions to be developed to meet specific needs.
Further enhancements are a HMI like the touch screen operable PANOPTES as well as the economic solution of ARGOS or interfacing to PLC/SCADA via different interfaces.

An integral speed governor for interfacing with the most standard positioner electronics or an external speed governor/ positioner make THESEUS the complete generator management solution. HEINZMANN also provides THESEUS systems to interface with existing analogue facilities via load share module to be expanded to solutions with complete control boards. THESEUS has proven its suitability for all: land based, as well as off-shore and marine applications thanks to its Lloyd‘s Register and DNV marine type approval certificate.

HEINZMANN has many years’ experience in dual fuel conversion. Sophisticated systems guarantee low investment costs, maximum efficiency, reliable operation and minimum service requirements. HEINZMANN dual fuel systems require just minor modifications to the engine itself and allow the engine to run on diesel again at any time. This ensures that the engine will remain available even if there is no gas. Relatively low conversion costs ensure high amortisation rates with significantly reduced fuel costs.

Mixer-based systems represent low-cost solutions for smaller, fast-running diesel engines, and have a conversion rate of up to 70 %. In slower-running large engines, the gas injection technique can achieve a gas percentage of over 80 %. In this case, each cylinder is operated under ideal conditions. Monitoring a wide range of engine operating data facilitates a maximum gas percentage whilst simultaneously ensuring a high degree of operating reliability. The characteristic map-based control system of both the diesel and the gas sides ensures the best possible conversion rate at all the operating points of the engine. In addition to using natural gas, the dual fuel system can also be operated using biogases or synthetic gases.

In addition to stationary applications involving generators or compressors, for example, solutions for vehicles are also available. These are based primarily on gas admission valves and are easy to retrofit to almost any engine. Driving characteristics are not impaired in any way during gas operation. If gas runs out, the system automatically switches to diesel operation.

For all applications, HEINZMANN offers complete solutions which also include the gas train, the switch cabinet and monitoring devices. Additional functions such as knock control, misfiring detection and generator management are available as options.
