Strategic expansion of the HEINZMANN Group in the field of exhaust gas after treatment
Press article HEINZMANN (March, 2008)
The HEINZMANN Group, a world market leader in the field of speed control for diesel and gas engines, is expanding the product portfolio. With the gradual introduction of more stringent global exhaust gas limits in the coming years, exhaust emission solutions are rapidly being introduced into series production in order to comply with the new statutory limits. HEINZMANN’s customised system solutions enable pollutant emissions, particularly of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and particulates/fine dust (PM) to be significantly reduced.
HEINZMANN is a specialist in the field of off-road applications where specifications and regulations sometimes differ considerably from those which apply to the rest of the automotive industry.
The company’s strength lies in its flexibility in product development and design, particularly for small and medium-sized series production. At the same time, the synergies enabled by world-wide projects also mean that the company can reap the benefits of considerable economies of scale.
The HEINZMANN Group with headquarters in Schönau in the heart of Germany’s Black Forest has been specialising in the field of speed governors for diesel engines for 111 years. With its product and development portfolio, HEINZMANN as system supplier and development partner, keeps pace with the demands of the market that in the field of exhaust gas aftertreatment are predominantly driven by exhaust emissions legislation. HEINZMANN offers system solutions for all applications ranging from small engines with power ratings below 10 kW to large engines outputting several thousand kilowatts.
HEINZMANN employs the latest technology to optimise and accelerate its product development process. Model-based simulations of fuel injection and full engine systems are used to decide on preliminary designs before an engine actually arrives on the test bench equipped with the latest exhaust emissions measurement technology.
The year 2008 will see the entry into series production of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) systems which comply with the Stage III / TIER 3 emission limits. These will reduce nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions by 33%. HEINZMANN can already deliver TIER 3 compliant equipment including EGR valves and complete engine control units.
The next TIER stage will see the introduction of world-wide exhaust limits reducing particulate emissions by 90%. HEINZMANN will be able to offer complete systems to meet these requirements. With this technology, too, specially developed control electronics will be employed for monitoring and control.
HEINZMANN’s world-wide activities currently cover more than 30 countries. The company is extending its international reach and has recently opened new subsidiaries, with many abroad.
